Teamwork

By Christine Tate

And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.  Genesis 11:6

When people are united towards a common goal, the possibilities are endless.  In Genesis 11:6, God himself recognizes the potential man possesses to accomplish great things when teams function harmoniously with a single, unifying vision.  We can be encouraged that a shared vision within our families of raising godly, righteous children in a Christian environment will yield desirable fruit.  In the workplace, we can be strengthened to know that uniting with other Christians as a team to bring God’s light into a darkened world will take us to unimaginable heights.  Today, we have the opportunity to build God’s kingdom as a team wherever we are and whatever we are doing.  God has all ready told us that’s a formula for success.  How well are the teams in your life functioning?

It’s Test Time

By Christine Tate

The teacher never talks during a test.  Once the exam begins, the teacher patiently waits in silence for the students to show what they know as they complete their tests.  God tests us at various times in our life.  It’s during those times that He wants to see what we’ve learned and how we apply it to our lives.  For example, as Christians, we know to give thanks to God in all circumstances, in good times and bad.  Are you giving thanks to Him right now in the midst of your trial?  Intellectually, we also know that we, as Christians, are to have faith in all matters.  Are you resting in the confident knowledge of God’s promises to you?  Can you identify what God has promised to do for you?  Christians are not supposed to be ruled by fear.  Are you letting your fear overwhelm you or are you in control of your emotions?  Sometimes, God’s silence is a compliment.  It just means that He thinks you are ready for a final exam before He moves you on to your next set of life lessons.
